Driving West along the Yellowhead highway in British Columbia, I was in the zone… legs sore from skiing, mind still buzzing from the beauty of Banff and Jasper national parks. I glanced in my driver’s side mirror and suddenly caught a glimpse of a massive mountain behind me. I whooped, pulled a sharp u-turn, and gawked. Mt Robson stared back at me. I came seriously close to missing this awesome sight so I snapped a selfie to help me remember the moment. I don’t know if it was the mirror, the act of taking a “selfie", or the massive mountain in front of me, but suddenly everything seemed to click.
"Twenty can't be expected to tolerate sixty in all things, and sixty gets bored stiff with twenty's eternal love affairs."
In my intense fit of self reflection, I wondered what 60 year-old Klara might want to reinforce to 20 year-old Klara? So with Mt Robson as my witness, I made a list:
Be flexible (the only constant is change)
Be confident (you are stronger and wiser than you think you are)
Be humble (there is infinitely more than you can ever begin to understand)
Be realistic (big deal? or little deal?)
Be active (goals don't just happen, you have want them, chase them down, and work hard for them)
Be sustainable (foster a lifestyle that is thoughtful towards others and our shared environment)
Be genuine (listen to that inner calling/voice/passion because it never fails to bring happiness and wholeness)
