Held in Jasper, Canada, Thinking Mountains was a scenic and thought provoking event. This was the second meeting of the new triennial conference, created to promote dialogue about mountain environments through interdisciplinary studies.
Presenting about my art was challenging and enlightening. It's tough explaining visual work with words, but through the process of writing, speaking, and presenting, I was able to think in new ways and look at my work from a variety of new perspectives. Being exposed to the latest work of scientists, writers, sociologists, historians and other artists left my mind buzzing with exciting ideas and new directions to explore.
